Having fished all over the world for Carp. Catfish and Barbel, I was relatively new to fly fishing on large Irish Loughs. Dave was my guide on Lough Corrib last year and his experience and knowledge was outstanding. He knows the areas to fish, the flies to use and nothing is too much trouble. The week ended up with a fish of a lifetime, a wild brown trout of 7Ib 8oz! I would recommend Dave to anyone, experienced or novice to use his guiding services. I was lucky to get a couple of days fishing on Lough Corrib with Dave, he was punctual, boat was perfectly set up and clean, food was great but more importantly he knew the locations and flies that caught us some cracking trout. I fished with Dave on a few occasions this year and had a positive experience every time. We were faced with highly contrasting conditions from a glass calm lake and blue skies, to a high rolling wave and strong winds. I consistently had opportunities to catch fish and managed to get some nice ones. These conditions, alongside Dave's support, allowed me to develop the skillsets one must have to tackle big Irish loughs. These included dry, wet, buzzer and nymph fishing tactics to suit the every changing conditions. Alongside good fishing and atmosphere, this was a great learning experience, all in stunning surroundings. I would highly recommend a fishing trip with Dave and I'm looking forward to my next trip!
